Where are you located?
I’m based in Iowa City, IA and always down for an adventure. All sessions include travel within a 60 mile round trip. If you’re outside that radius, a small per mile travel fee applies.

I’m awkward in front of the camera. Is that a problem?
Not even a little.
Almost every single person says this before their session. It’s my job to guide you, prompt you, pose you, hype you up, and make sure you never feel like you’re just standing there wondering what to do with your hands.
You don’t need to know how to pose. You just need to show up. I’ll take care of the rest.
Who do you photograph?
Short answer? Love in ALL forms.
Long answer? The Curly Kay Collection exists for all bodies, all identities, all orientations, all stories. LGBTQ+ couples, nontraditional relationships, shy humans, loud humans, tattooed humans, people who have never had professional photos taken before…you are welcome here.

What is your turnaround time?
Turnaround depends on season and overall workload.
For standard sessions, galleries are typically delivered within 1 to 3 weeks. Weddings are delivered within 5 to 8 weeks.
I take editing seriously. Every image is intentionally selected and carefully edited. If turnaround times are longer than usual during busy season or holidays, I’ll always communicate that ahead of time.
How do I book with you?
Step One: Stalk me a little.
Scroll through my portfolio. Lurk on my Instagram. Read about who I am and what I value. My style is very intentional, from the way I edit to the way I guide you during sessions.
If you find yourself thinking, “Okay wait… I want photos that feel like this,” then we’re probably a really good fit.
Step Two: Make sure it makes sense for you.
Take a look at my pricing and package options to be sure everything aligns with your vision and budget. I want you to feel excited and confident about your investment, not stressed.
Step Three: Reach out and say hi.
Fill out the inquiry form with as much detail as you can. Tell me about your story, your vision, your Pinterest board, your chaotic love, whatever feels like you.
Once you hit submit, you can expect to hear back within 24 to 48 hours with next steps. From there, we’ll choose your package, sign your contract, and secure your date with a retainer.
And then? We start creating something really beautiful together.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes.
I understand photography is an investment, and I never want finances to feel overwhelming. For weddings and higher-priced packages, flexible payment plans are available. I require a signed contract and a 50% nonrefundable retainer for everything I offer. After that, we can split your remaining balance into manageable installments if needed.
Just ask when booking, and we’ll find something that works for both of us.
Do you offer discounts?
I don’t offer ongoing discounts on full sessions, but I do host a handful of limited mini sessions throughout the year.
Mini sessions are offered at a lower price point because they’re shorter, have set concepts, limited availability, and quicker turnaround times. They’re perfect if you want a specific seasonal vibe or a shorter experience.
Each year, I typically offer:
• A spring or creative couples themed mini
• One signature boudoir event
• Fall minis
Spots are limited and tend to book quickly once announced.
I also run model calls, occasional flash deals, and my annual Black Friday sale. Model calls are highly discounted and are usually tied to a specific concept or creative project I’m building.

How many images will we receive?
I don’t believe in making you choose between your own memories.
You’ll receive a full, carefully curated gallery of the best images from your session or wedding. If an image is beautiful, meaningful, or tells part of your story, it’s going in your gallery.
Every image is intentionally selected and fully edited with care. You get the moments that matter. The big ones and the in-between ones.
Do you help with outfit planning or styling?
Yes. Absolutely.
You’re not expected to magically know what photographs well. After booking, I’ll guide you with styling tips, color suggestions, and overall vibe direction so everything feels cohesive and true to you.
For boudoir, I help you choose pieces that feel empowering.
For couples, I help you coordinate without looking too matchy.
You never have to figure it out alone.
What if we need to reschedule?
Life happens. Weather happens. Kids get sick. Iowa throws a random storm.
If something unexpected comes up, we’ll work together to choose a new date based on availability. I allow one reschedule beyond the original session date so there’s flexibility if needed. Your original retainer will transfer to that new date.
Any additional reschedules beyond that are subject to a $75 fee.
Open communication always makes things easier, so the sooner you reach out, the better. My goal is for you to show up relaxed and present, not stressed about circumstances outside your control.
